Who we are
Father and son: from story to story
1969 the year my father Aldo Salomoni opened a coffee tasting in Verona. The first in the city's history. It was a great success from day one. Corso Portoni Borsari became the new and only coffee street in downtown Verona.
Commitment for all the 35 years to follow make a passion a job. A work that has never stopped and now in the year 2006 they continue in this way, from father to son, also introducing artisanal coffee roasting.
In the first workshop on St. James Street I learn about the roasting process with the intention of creating a unique blend in flavor and aroma. It was not to be! The basis of a perfect recipe is years of continuous experimentation and deep knowledge of the raw material. Success came in 2012 when I decided to restructure the whole company under a new brand "IL TORREFATTORE" and with the move of all production to Santa Maria di Zevio, in the province of Verona.
At that point things changed, the roasting process became controlled and consolidated according to the principle of slow roasting, also revising the percentages of the different types of coffee already present in the Supremo blend. In fact, a coffee with the characteristic of enhancing the balance of varieties by aroma and taste.
Today, proud of the path I have taken, my quest goes beyond the borders of Europe, where everyone who approaches a cup of our espresso can imagine drinking inside that cup all the knowledge of an entire family generation that has found a reason for living in coffee. This is why the company recognizes the phrase "Expressing Yourself with Espresso" as an authentic truth and role model.
If the good is not visible to the eyes, the good appears to the nose and in the mouth immediately! In all our blends down to the most vigorous single-origins, we try to express the true authenticity of that coffee and what it represents to its country of origin.
